If someone was arrested using your name and ssn, there should be somewhere a set of fingerprint records of that person. It may be costly to do so, but a comparison of your own fingerprints to the other person’s would set the record straight.

They’ll put an alert that requires positive id from you anytime anyone runs your credit.
