One of my favorites, along with ‘Mud Flaps’
Be aware! i think this whole identity theft
fear tactic is just to make us want to take the verichip, youtube “verichip” i think it’s all a set up for the soon coming “Mark of the Beast” and what better way to plant a seed of fear into the minds of Americans than thru the media!!! THINK

In short, I disagree. Simple, yet brilliant.
The victims don’t “talk funny with the identity of the thief”. This is the thieves talking through the personages of the victims about how they made off big from the victims’ finances. The actual humor of this concept is found in the stereotyped images of each thief and how they completely misrepresent the victim’s image, again, with funny dialogue and voicing.
As for the “inexperienced art director” statement, I’m actually refreshed by the fact that most americans find humor in simplicity.
But they don’t show the “completely in control of the victim” The victims seem normal. They just talk funny with the identity of the thief, which makes no sense. Your point is well stated about controlling finances and I concur, but this concept is a cop out. And the reason they did it this way is because the thief, stereo-typically, would look the same in each commercial. So an inexperienced art director sold citibank on this flip flop and assured them it was “brilliant”. It’s broke.
You understand that the entire joke is based off of the fact that the identity thief has control over the victim’s finances, right? The joke itself is found in hyperbole based on how the identity thief has control over the person’s financial life. So the writers decided to hyperbole that by making the thief completely in control of the victim (with funny dialogue and voice acting to supplement the humor of the concept)
If an old lady gets her identity stolen, she doesnt take on the attacker roll, she doesn’t know em, rather, the attacker takes on the roll of the victim. These spots are 100% backwards. The creators reversed the “joke” not the concept. And to better sell the backwards concept, they actually created stereo-types to mock…a loser couple owning a motel, an African American hair dresser, stagnant old people…are these the theifs? No, they are the victims…so why are they acting like the crooks?
1:49 guy in the backround flips off camera
I actually got them from a friend. I’m not sure how he got them but I’m not too concerned about that. Having them is good enough for me, lol. I’m sure if you really wanted to you could get them off YouTube somehow.
hey, is there any way you could share where you downloaded these from? I always get a laugh from them and want to show my friends via ipod
this is hilarious!! best comercials ever! my friends and i quote them all the time
I LOVE the guy in the living room. I think I used to have the whole thing memorized right after it came out. I also love the black guy lifting weights. “Unbreak my HEART, say you love me again!…” There is no way I would be able to do any of those without busting out laughing. Oh wow. Some of the best commercials ever made.
You know whomever came up with these commercials, should be the head of an advertising company right now! This and the two Geico squirrels were pure genius! A lot of commercials are just so pointless and annoying; where as with these, you find yourself switching the channels just in hopes of catching a glimpse of them.
Pool cleaning lady is the best one. That laugh and her expression are golden.
